Recycling

FdS offers the most comprehensive recycling services in Port-au-Prince. Our commitment to dramatically reducing post-consumer waste in Haiti can be seen through all of our numerous recycling endeavors, from our clean-burning briquettes, to our styrofoam and palm frond heat retention cookers, to our waste motor oil recuperation.

At FdS we believe there are always solutions to waste-related problems, and it is our mission to find innovative new ways to reuse waste materials and ensure that as little waste as possible winds up in a landfill.

Our facility has the ability to sort and recycle:

• HDPE plastic
• Styrofoam
• Organic material
• Waste paper
• Sawdust
• Cardboard
• Steel drums
• Motor oil

We also work with Haiti Recycles to ensure any material we cannot reuse at FdS is sorted and shipped to sites where it can be efficiently recycled.
